If you are aware of an interesting new academic paper (that has been published in a peer-reviewed journal or has appeared on the arXiv), a conference talk (at an official professional scientific meeting), an external blog post (by a professional scientist) or a news item (in the mainstream news media), which you think might make an interesting topic for an FQXi blog post, then please contact us at with a link to the original source and a sentence about why you think that the work is worthy of discussion. Please note that we receive many such suggestions and while we endeavour to respond to them, we may not be able to reply to all suggestions.

Please also note that we do not accept unsolicited posts and we cannot review, or open new threads for, unsolicited articles or papers. Requests to review or post such materials will not be answered. If you have your own novel physics theory or model, which you would like to post for further discussion among then FQXi community, then please add them directly to the "Alternative Models of Reality" thread, or to the "Alternative Models of Cosmology" thread. Thank you.

You're invited to a special free film screening and panel discussion event, "Quantum Theories of Consciousness," on July 18th 2020, organized by our friends at The Fetzer Memorial Trust, in partnership with The Center for Consciousness Studies. The event features Paul Howard’s new film, "Infinite Potential: The Life and Ideas of David Bohm."

Bohm has been described as one of the 20th century’s most brilliant physicists who Einstein called his “spiritual son” and the Dalai Lama, his “science guru.” Infinite Potential explores the revolutionary theories of David Bohm, the maverick physicist who proposed a hidden factor underlying reality - the Quantum Potential - reconciling relativity with quantum mechanics.

This mystical and scientific journey into the nature of life and reality will include a post-screening panel discussion moderated by Stuart Hameroff MD with Physicist Harald Atmanspacher, Physicist and FQXi member Sabine Hossenfelder, and Philosopher of Mind Paavo Pylkkänen.

When: July 18, 2020

Time: 10 am PT

To register for your free seat click here. If you can't watch live, you can register anyway, and they will send you a link to watch the recording, after the event.

Hi Zeeya, it is a very relevant topic to explain this consciousness and its origin.

The articles about this are very interesting. I have my own idea in my model of spherisation but of course it is an assumption also. I know that the sciences community is divided about the origin of our universe, and about the foundamental mathematical and physical objects and also about why we are...

Bohm seems to have understood these hidden parameters necessary to explain our unknowns and this universal balance, see that this cold dark matter encoded in our nuclei and superimposed in our standard model can explain these hidden parameters and these 3D coded finite series of spheres also , the numbers also become very relevant if these series have the same finite number than our cosmological finite serie of spheres, the partition at this hypothetical BB becomes intriguing, why a finite number and why this sphape, and that implies a philosophical interpretation before this BB and inflation and so a kind of supermatter distributed, that is why these 3 main finite series of spheres , one space and two fuels, photons and cold DM become relevant in a simplistic vue. the generality is so simple but our details wowww are so complex when we consider their oscillations and distributions and motions rotations, we have so 3 main aethers, one space, the primordial codes and the luminiferous one with the photons and the gravitational one with this cold matter non baryonic, their mergences permit to create our physicality , see a possible hamiltonian when they merge.

I have thought about the model of Max Tegmark, the multiverse and in reading his interesting mathematical paper about the hierarchy, I told me that why not a multispheres universe, and that becomes relevant to consider all the changements of laws and all the combinations with the number and also we can try to find a road for the interactions between these hypothetical universes if they exist and in logic we must retrun at a kind of uniqueness and singularity and so different singularities primoridal and supermatters at this main center, that becomes fascinating and intriguing to link all this with maths , the spherisation can be extyrapolated for one universe like for several universes and if they exist how many universes and is it infinite and if yes, wowww that becomes very complex even philosophically.Max Tegmark is relevant and could share his ideas , that could be interesting to see all this puzzle.
