Hi Orenda,

Just want to let you know I have read your manifesto. I really like your poetic ending. Quote "Let's transform human kind into cosmic poets, noble sculptors of matter, wizards of reality, musicians of the energy waves of continuous flow of positive improvement, alchemists of happiness; let's transform the blueprints of human kind into a design of prosperity, happiness and achievement in the cosmos cybernetics. Orenda Urbano Hernández." That's certainly optimistic.

I lost count of how many times you said Black Sky thinking, it was a lot.I was starting to feel the name being repeatedly stamped into my brain. Am I correct in assuming this is a project that you have been working on prior to the contest and thought applicable to the essay question? Do you have members yet or is it just an idea?

Dear Georgina,

I appreciate your kind indication of the repetitive action using the term “Black Sky Thinking”. Your observation will help me to avoid this repetitive action in the future. You are correct, I was working for a prior contest and thought it would be applicable to "How should humanity steer the future?" contest. The previous contest focus was to develop the vision of how should humanity be related with ideas of the way we may travel to the stars. The field of life called earth it is our cradle to generate models to solve things for survival, travelling to space will require different approaches toward this challenge. We may change our internal fields of thinking, interacting and behaving in order to include new structures. In both cases the goal is the same: to explore space and a new future we require to re-structure ourselves to survive and vice versa in order to re-structure ourselves to survive we may explore space and new future. The crossing point is human kind, it is like a svastica or helix that needs to spin. For that purpose needs to be developed in both axis and therefore there is movement, where there is movement there is life.

I am optimistic because we have the freedom of choice to be hardwired into negative thinking or taking positive actions. This is an idea so far. I am in the search of members to develop it and upgrade it into scientific solution.

I remain thankful of the time you dedicated to read the essay and mainly of your positive, improving and constructive post.

Kindly,

Orenda

I like the concept of identifying those things that contribute strongly toward a desirable outcome for humanity. However, many of the things we think of today as being bad, actually have profound influences in the future to help humanity move forward.

War is undesirable, yet it accounts for a major segment of all technological developments. Is it possible for Black Sky Thinking to support equivalent flows of innovation and development? I think so, but additional features related to shared emotional, social, and communication logical processes. Also, a system of both bottom/up and top/down systems to eliminate corruption are necessary.

This is a nice initial work to start from in the development of a broader software system to simulate and predict outcomes based upon the present status and proposed actions.

I've seen several works here that if combined would produce a more complete model for helping to rationally steer the future.

1) using a system of path integrals to characterize best pathway

2) broad system to teach common sense

3) I tend to like the entries that are implementable

4) ...

Dear Mr. Hernández,

Your very well written essay was quite fascinating to read and I do hope that it does well in the competition. I do have one minor quibble about it that I hope you will not mind me mentioning.

In my essay REALITY, ONCE, I have gone to extraordinary lengths to explain as simply as possible that reality is unique, once. It is with the greatest regret that as best as I can fathom based on your essay; Black Sky Thinking is not unique.

Mr. Fisher,

Perhaps the morphic ressonance of Mr. Ruppert Sheldrake is real: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AOWPbPDitQ

According to him in the book of Masaru Emamoto it is described that morphic fields affect when there is a scientific discovery in one part of the world this happens at the same time in another part of the world or several parts of the world.

I hope reading this essay do not caused you a negative feeling. When I was creating it I had the perception someone was reading it and making it happen by parts in different places of the world. Then I realized this was not the case. After that I remembered this morphic fields of Mr. Sheldrake and realized that is very possible. As Neil deGrasse Tyson said: “We are all connected; To each other, biologically. To the earth, chemically. To the rest of the universe atomically.”

I know more people who had expressed me that they had created a similar project as Black Sky Thinking so as you can see we can be glad we are not the only ones.

Dear Orenda,

Please forgive me if you thought I was being too critical of your first essay to this site. It was a fine essay. I merely wanted to point out to you that understanding reality is far more important than learning what dead men like Einstein or Newton might have thought of their abstract universes.

Mr. Fisher,

Your kind apologies are welcome, I just wanted to make clear for your inner peace that I had not been having any actions to diminish or damage your intellectual property.

I appreciate that you are extremely kind with your words toward my effort of providing a positive view of how we may steer the future.

Totally agree with you about the importance of focus our effort to understand reality and the way we may improve it. As you, I also find that there is extremely valuable information inherited from previous thinkers but we may always provide also our attention toward those applicable and on time answers to progress.

Abstract thinking is a fabulous because we grasp magical nature of cosmos but we may also focus in non-abstract thinking because so far human beings are not abstract.

You are right about the fact that there are many people are creating systems to improve our reality like Janine Benyus who created the concept of Biomimicry and now is focusing in economy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE-2rDZwMXA another fabulous answer to create a better reality provided by Biomimicry is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTvCri64_dw

I am sure that your focus is the result of making positive actions turn into an innovative, creative and functional reality. Thank you for the time dedicated to Black Sky Thinking essay and toward my person.

Orenda,

I don't agree with dominant centralized values in a global context. Depending upon the social group there may be some shared values, but the dominance of these values are not universal.

An assembly line worker needs certain qualities to be happy in their workplace. A traffic policeman shares many of the traits needed by assembly line workers, due to the repetitive nature of their job. People who do not share the a joy in doing repetitive tasking should not hold related positions. They should instead have opportunities to become a Detective or some other position where repetition does not occur as often.

People need to be diverse and categorized so that opportunities can be fit to and made available to them; along with the related training.

Values are systems of relationships and perspectives that support a system of outcomes. The feedback of opportunities reinforces those values. If everyone has the same values, there won't be enough opportunities to support those values and this is where corruption lives.

Physics is the abstraction of mathematics to represent cosmology. Corruption lives in the manipulation of the availability of opportunities. The super-collider gets funding and support personnel because of influence of perceived value. Even though not one useful product has been produced from manipulating subatomic particles other than neutron, proton, electron, and photon. So in useful terms, being able to manipulate perceived values is of great importance for the research of physics; and everything else in competition with physics.

I look forward to discussing how aspects of your proposal can be commercialized. I know elsewhere the author of Open Peer Review pushes for transparency, but this blatantly would be negligent business practice.

Orenda,

Black Sky Thinking, of course, is not fantasy, but your poetic depiction makes it sound so. Considering the present global situation, it will take such an effort to bring the change that is needed. I do not describe my suggested changes as Black Sky Thinking but the vision is the same. My "thinking beyond" involves thinking beyond the confines of our solar system. My thinking within is the microcosm of the universe we call our brain.

Your essay is poetic and metaphorical. Such is needed to inspire the changes needed to bring about a viable future.

Good job.

Mr. Hoover,

The universe is at least in me because my body is made of atoms and follows different systems that are reality of the universe: chemistry, phisics, mathematical, biological, etc... and poetical that is one of the highest levels of expression of cosmos.

Orenda,

In some ways this is the most realistic essay here. A plan to form a committee that will form a committee that will plan to ask a question is sadly the way government works. Most of the time governments wait for someone to find an answer and then take the credit. I do feel this is more of a poster than an essay. This does not mean that the ideas are poor, but this does not have the style and flow of an essay. This also makes giving this a rating is difficult. Should I grade this as an essay, a plan or a powerpoint pitch?

All the best,

Orenda,

I'm glad we agree on so many basics. Most importantly that nature is really 'one' and the inconsistencies between our classical and quantum descriptions and interpretations are purely due to our poor understanding.

Thank you also for the post on my essay blog, I'm glad you agree the ten axioms. Nobody has challenged them though they challenge current assumptions, but few others have commented. I'm pleased I've now rated your essay and improved your score. I hope you'll remember to do mine if you haven't yet. I read your essay with great interest and wish to read it again and give you a more detailed feedback. I admire that your solution is a new way of thinking and understanding of the Universe. Your find quote “The land will be as the men are” can be easily link with the more general principle of Hermes Trismegistus “That which is up is that which is down. That which is down is that which is up”. I success of humanity involves great changes in our perception upon the Universe. I also admire the practical point in the Black Sky Thinking project meaning the list of needed specialists for economics, science and so on. To summarize your essay has a philosophical and a practical aspect both clear in its meaning.

Best of luck on the competition and I hope to continue our correspondence
